Nayar’s commitment to global IoT connectivity for the elevator industry
One of Nayar’s key innovations in 2025 has been GSR2, its new IoT solution designed specifically for the elevator industry. This IoT gateway is installed directly within the lift controller cabinet, enabling seamless integration with the controller and functioning as a remote control and telemetry device for the elevator.
The GSR2 device supports 2G, 3G, and 4G connectivity. By default, the GSR2 incorporates an internal global SIM, which facilitates immediate deployment in different regions without the need for an external SIM, making it an ideal solution for international deployments and projects.
In addition to its ability to connect directly to certain elevator controllers, Nayar’s GSR2 device has two RJ45 communication ports that support the connection of up to two complementary units capable of interfacing with non-compatible controllers—for instance, through the new multi-voltage binary board. This greatly enhances its integration potential in complex installations. The device also includes a USB communication port and a pluggable terminal block for a proprietary communication bus. Its flexible architecture allows for seamless integration into various technical environments and meets the current demands of the sector, thanks to its compact size and DIN rail mounting capability, which streamlines the installation process—a long-standing request from the industry.
The GSR2 device is designed for continuous operation using an external power supply (not included), but it also supports autonomous operation via an internal battery, ensuring reliability and safety at all times.
