On December 16th, the whole staff of Nayar Systems team celebrated its second internal convention. As the previous year, the event was surrounded by an absolute mystery. Nobody, except for the communication department and a person from the management team, knew anything about the convention. Surprise and nervousness were in the air after the impressive first edition, hence the participants were eager to know the details of the second convention.
The organization of the event exhibited a great deal of creativity with the aim of kick-starting one of the landmarks of Nayar Systems for 2017: The celebration of its tenth anniversary. To that effect, Salazar was rescued. The chameleon had been the pet of the company for several years and the lead of the previous corporate identity of Nayar Systems. The organization wished to put an end to the period where the work had not been supported by a firm strategy and planning, and after closing that stage, to start a new and decisive era. But a question needed to be solved: Who killed Salazar? The participants would figure out the answer by playing the mystery game of Cluedo. In a Middle Ages-inspired atmosphere, they became detectives for one night in order to obtain the clues that would lead them to puzzle out the mystery of its death.
It is worth highlighting that Nayar Systems has experienced a transcendental evolution in the last two years, launching new commercial firms onto the market, following a careful strategic plan, and increasing its workforce up to 35 workers, and expecting to reach the amount of 40 workers in a short period of time. Therefore, we had to break ties with the past, and look towards the future with the eagerness and motivation to continue achieving success. The chosen place to celebrate the convention was Aldea Roqueta, an idyllic small village of country houses which was fully rented for Nayar Systems. The first part involved the intervention of Nacho Villoch, a jack-of-all-trades communicator and manager of Events and Innovation Activities at Centros de Innovación BBVA (BBVA Innovation Centres). He is as well the author of the business novels “La Aventura de Diana” (“The Adventure of Diana”) and “El Desafío de Yago: En busca de las Fuentes del talento.” (“Yago’s Challenge: looking for the sources of talent”). During his talk, Nacho imparted his knowledge of innovative entrepreneurship, carrying the audience to blue oceans of innovation.
After the first part, and before dinner, one of the actors that were part of the Cluedo’s cast appeared: the prior claimed two trunks which days before he had personally carried to Nayar Systems’ offices. Thereby the creativity of the convention and the goal of the game were revealed. They had to find the murderer of Salazar. In order to do that, the participants would organize themselves in different clans and by means of team-work they would figure out the puzzle.
Since the convention was set in the Middle Ages, Salazar was represented as a dragon stemming from a powerful lineage instead of the actual pet of the company, who was a chameleon. The participants were amused by the creativity and eager to find the guilty. Until the end they would not know that there was not a sole murderer. All of them had made possible that Salazar would no longer play a part in Nayar Systems, for they had decided to look towards a promising future, which was to be built through establishing a strategic vision in the minds of the team.
Finally, on Saturday the first Nayar Systems’ Gastronomic Day took place. The teams cooked and ate paellas in an atmosphere of trust and union. It is worth mentioning that during the convention three prizes were awarded to persons that had been part of Nayar Systems for more than five years. This represented a close with a high note that put an end to 2016 and an incentive to start a transcendental year for the company, the year of its tenth anniversary where it will do what it does best: to launch powerful innovations onto the market.
Welcome to the creativity!
